WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT AUDITIONS:
​​New State College Choral Society members are accepted by auditions each semester. Auditions and rehearsals are held at Oakwood Presbyterian Church.

FALL 2024 AUDITIONS
Monday, September 9 (AFTER REHEARSAL)
Those wishing to audition should attend rehearsal from 7 - 9 pm.
Monday, September 16 (AFTER REHEARSAL)
Those wishing to audition should attend rehearsal from 7 - 9 pm.
Our artistic director conducts all auditions. No need to prepare a piece.
Just come ready to demonstrate your command of pitch, tone and musicality.
The audition will be short and sweet.

​MENTORSHIP
A personal mentor will be assigned to you upon your successful audition.
This veteran society member will be on hand during the initial stages of your
membership to answer questions and assist you as needed.
​
We sing choral classics.
​
Baroque to 21st Century, Bach to Rutter, we concentrate on performing full-length pieces from the classical repertoire. We even occasionally commission new works! For more details, view the repertoire history of State College Choral Society performances since our founding.
We'd be thrilled to have you join us!
All that's required beyond the audition is a willingness to wear a tuxedo or standard-issue long black dress ($60-70), purchase your own music, miss no more than 20% of rehearsals during a concert cycle, and pay annual dues:
$90 for new members
$60 for full-time/graduate students
$120 for returning members​
